Local Attractions
Onancock, VA - A small town on the Chesapeake Bay 10 minutes east of Seaview, Onancock has an 'artist colony'  type feel, with numerous galleries and interesting shops, as well as excellent restaurants and Victorian Bed & Breakfast Inns.  A ferry service to Tangier Island, an island community in Chesapeake Bay  is available, as well kayak tours of the Chesapeake Bay.

Wachapreague, VA - A small, seaside town known for its marina and fishing.  The Wachapreague Inlet allows access to the ocean for deep sea fishing. Charter boats are available, as well as small boats for rental. The Wachapreague Carnival occurs every summer. The Virginia Institute of Marine Science is located here.

Chincoteague Island - Is the only resort island in Virginia and is known for its wild ponies, made famous by the children's book 'Misty of Chincoteague,' and its annual Pony Swim and Auction.  Chincoteague is adjacent to the Assateague Island National Seashore and the Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge is located here. Chincoteague has numerous stores, restaurants, and hotels. The NASA-Wallops Flight Facility, located on Wallops Island, is seen on the way to Chincoteague.

Route 13 runs north-south through the Eastern Shore and passes through numerous small towns, with restaurants, antique stores, and other shops before connecting to Virginia Beach via the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel .  Virginia Beach is a resort town, with boardwalk, hotels, and numerous events and happenings.  The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center and Ocean Breeze Water Park are located here.  The city of Norfolk, with numerous cultural opportunites, is nearby.

The Barrier Islands Center and Museum is located along Route 13 in Machipongo.

The Fisherman Island Wildlife Refuge is located at the southern tip of the Delmarva Peninsula, just before the Bay Bridge Tunnel, and is a major part of the Atlantic Flyway, where millions of birds are seen migrating each season.

Golf courses on the Eastern Shore include Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club and the Bay Creek Resort and Club in Cape Charles, VA. 

Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens are approximately 90 minutes from Seaview in Williamsburg, VA.
